Anyone know what this stuff means? It's from the Log Viewer in Norton under the "intrusion Prevention" tab

I get that it means something tried to scan a port on my computer but what exactly does that mean in terms of a security risk and what the hell am i supposed to do with this information? Somehow try and block that ISP address from doing it again, or is this just an fyi for me, and Norton is just bragging to me saying, "hey look, we stopped this!"

Says it was detected and blocked - I would worry! 😉

It's just FYI. Ports are attacked all the time - they're the way into you!

Norton is doing its job....... for now! 😏

I understand that but why would my ISP provider be scanning my port from another country (US) when i live in canada?

sounds like a hacker surfing anonymously or going through a proxy to mask their identity, so all it reveals to you is their ISP. Most likely explanation.

use a wireless router to your computer, it will install (if done properly) an encrypted firewall to the internet. People are crazy to not have this extra step.

I have a wired router but no idea if it's using an ecrypted firewall.

This compy stuff is outta my league. I hear they have the internet on computers now?

Norton is full of BS that's intended to make it look like it's doing more than it's actually doing.

I recently got a laptop, and this thing keeps popping up telling me I have some sort of grave security risk. It wants me to clear my browser history, and run a defrag. Stupid and annoying.
