Not Respecting Vacations

I am new to the site and one thing caught my
eye. A player states in his profile that he will claim
a timeout if you are vacation or not. Is this possible?
If so is it common?

yes it is possible but it dosnt happen very often, but I think most people would do that if the guy stayed away long enough (like around 3-4 months)

but its not common at all.

i take timouts if the games a 21 day game, as i find it kinda hard to beleive that someone's gonna be away for 3 weeks without a computer 😛

Don't believe that it is that uncommon. I went away for two weeks in August, set my vacation status but still was timed out in two of my games.

Unfortunately, some people are more concerned about grabbing ratings points than playing the game. They shall remain nameless (but you might want to check out game no.253175 if you are curious)😠

My brother was away for 4 weeks and 90% of the time he was without a computer.

For me if a person announces a vacation for no matter
how long [within site rules] I will respect that time
gone but if he oversteps the alloted time then I will
claim a victory on time. To undermine a person's stated vacation
or if that person wrote me asking for more time and then
claiming timeout is wrong. Just my opinion!!

if a player has there vacation sign up then i'll not claim time out ,but if not ,i will always claim the game, no problem

I think it is important to note though that the player stated their intention in their profile. They are honest about the matter.

yeah-i wouldn't time them out if they said they were away for 4 weeks or something, but if they just up and left for 3 weeks?...😛
