or notebook and finger board?

I bought one of the latest Aspire, Intel etc, 320Gb HDD, CineCrystal LED... Blah blah... big blue and green lights for on and charge. It's quite cute and superbly fast.

BUT - the fingerboard is DIRE. Takes 4 attempts to read my fingerprint.

I attached a mouse and it's wicked. What's wrong with these designers that they can't inbuild a pull out mouse?

Does anybody else use a mouse with their notebook? Do you prefer it?
Are you happy with your finger touch pad?

I'm intereseted, as if you prefer a mouse, I know of a few designers who can design and patent the idea of an inbuilt pull out mouse- to my gain of course! πŸ˜‰

Is 'fingerboard' ACER marketing-speak for a keyboard?

I'm quite happy with my current touch pad (I have a Toshiba), but it's never as good as a mouse. My previous one was a Dell, which had a terrible touch pad. Whenever I typed long texts, I had to turn it off or the cursor would regularly move somewhere else on the screen because my hands brushed against it. Horrible.

Dell, never again. Had lots of problems with the battery, too. Ok, their service was impeccable, but I prefer not having to change battery 3 times.

Is the Toshiba a separate material? My touch pad is the same material as the rest of the top, thinned out I guess. My old Acer never had a problem, as the touch pad was like a see-through polymer.

Would you credit an inbuilt pull out mouse idea?

It's different material. But how do you think that matters?

Personally, it would depend on how thin you can make a mouse. Even the smallest ones I've seen are bigger than most laptops' height (when closed). Still, if some people are interested, why not?

A mouse doesn't have to be formed or shaped as a mouse as we all perceive... that is what innovative design is all about...

r...ounded and moveable, yes. three key buttons and a possible scroller roller yes...... these can be done in one half inch... πŸ˜‰

Go for it. Aren't you a designer? Make the world more ergonomical.

This from the people who brought you the one-click mouse with the miniscule scroll pea - the most useless controller since the Nintendo powerglove.

samsung - i don't mind it but would use a mouse then possible... but my current mouse is easily the best i've had. it all, depend on the person i guess, i wouldn't go out of my pay to buy a netbook with a built in mouse that there's a chance i wouldn't even like.
