filtrum ventriculi (fil·trum ven·tric·u·li) (fil¢tr[schwa]m ven-trik¢u-li) [L.] a depression between the two projections formed in the lateral wall of the vestibule of the larynx by the arytenoid and cuneiform cartilages.

here's something i didn't know:
arytenoid (ar·y·te·noid) (ar²[schwa]-te¢noid) [Gr. arytaina ladle + -oid] shaped like a jug or pitcher, as arytenoid cartilage.
cuneiform of course means 'wedge shaped'.
i mean, i never even imagined that my larynx had a vestibule, let alone a vestibule with a lateral wall and projections formed by jug-shaped and wedge-shaped cartilage.
here i've been all these years walking around and breathing and eating and stuff, and i suddenly have realised i really know very little about how my body works, or what's in it...

is there NO-ONE in this temple of giant chess intellects interested in the larynx???😉 looks like this thread is going the way of my 'height of the Simpsons' and 'Chess Survivor' ideas...ever get the feeling you're on a different wavelength to everyone around you?😕😛😉🙄😀

Oh God! Now I am aware of my tongue! I should have never read this thread!!!!!!!

EDIT: at least i have a new name for it. beats 'Moby' or 'Phil'😛😲🙄
