That's funny-- we're in the same boat. I haven't shaved in a week
now, and it is just starting to make the transition from looking like I
haven't shaved, to looking like I'm growing a beard. The plus side-- I
hate shaving, and this is a nice break from it. The down side-- I still
look a little shaggy, and I am currently up for a promotion at work.
Also, while the hair on my head is plain brown, the hair on my face
has a bit of gray and white in it, so having a full beard makes me look
older, and that in itself will probably be sufficient reason to shave
within the next week or so.

I wanted to bump this back up above that other major thread running
at the moment. (I like this one much better \:^) ) If you haven't
done so already, check out this site. It is very very funny. I especially
like the bit about Mark. And I also like the bit about Bessy Boo.
These two, more than the MAP war, gave me that warm community
feeling (very cute dog, sorry about your loss) and I also like the fact
that John and Andrew are linking in to each other's sites. But the best
thing of all was Vaknso's profile. I didn't think he could top the crown,
but he did. Very cool.

I understand that Rasputin was quite a lady's man. My advice would
be to grow a like beard and adopt a similar demeanor. After all, what
better role models have there been than Rasputin?
Everyone else's advice as to whether you should grow a beard or not
has been a foolish waste of time. The only logical solution, if you're
unconvinced about the Rasputin/chick magnet connection, would be to
try a simple experiment. You should grow a full beard on one side of
your face while keeping it clean shaven on the other. Wear this
configuration for a month and tabulate people's reaction. You will
surely gain some valuable insights from this.
To beard, or not to beard... a question to which I have my answer:
Wear a beard if: 1) you look BETTER with it; or 2) you have no
intimate relationship with a female and are tired of shaving all the
time.
Most females prefer a clean-shaven male partner. Of course there
are exceptions, so if you have a spouse, most definitely seek her
opinion about it FIRST.
If you go for the beard, you should keep it well groomed, which
means do not let it grow wildly all over your face and neck – you risk
losing almost all female attention if you do not groom yourself. Also,
consider the fact that a beard will make you look OLDER.
This can be good or bad, depending on your age. The rough short
minimal beard on a younger male can make him look more mature, …
that is until he opens his mouth. Now, if he has the talk down and is
young and wants to look a bit more sophisticated, then maybe a well-
kept beard. On the other hand, a beard on an older male (45+) will
simply make him look older than he may want. Some women might
think he looks very distinguished, while others simply see he IS old.
So, to beard or not to beard may have more to do with the “female
factor.” …Or, NOT, should women be unimportant or unnecessary in
your life. Your call...
