I'm looking for a new tournament set for myself......I saw one at this
tourney I went to and really like it......and I found it on the internet
somewhere, but can't find it again! The set is mostly normal looking
but the pieces kinda balloon out at the bottom to a larger
size.......larger than most..........also.......the white pieces aren't
white.......they are a beige color! Can anyone help!
Beige!!??...oh the horror!.I know a local player that has an ugly set where the black pieces are red.I used to hate playing him as white(black gets the choice if they want).
Tradition sir.Black and white Staunton only.
Get yourself a large magnetized plastic set.Magnets are great weights on roll up boards.Good solid feel to them as well.
Tony,
By beige, did you mean natural wood color? Or were they plastic?
Some online chess stores I've shopped at:
http://www.icdchess.com/
Note: from personal experience, ICD chess prices are NOT too good (ouch, did I get burned). But
they do have a large selection, my advice, look here, buy elsewhere.

a small selection, but seemed to be good prices, and his stuff seems to be high quality. For
instance he only carries Drueke boards, which are solid thick wood (no veneer, no plastic). And I
had good experience buying from the owner, Pete Surace.
And some other's I checked out:

didn't seem to bad. Reasonable selection, and prices weren't as outrageous as others.

Oh, these are USA stores - I assume that's what you need.
