Finally, some good news in the advancement of defeating cancer.
"VANCOUVER, British Columbia — Scientists may be one step closer to defeating cancer after finding what researchers at the University of British Columbia call the disease’s “Achilles’ heel.”
Their study has uncovered a protein that fuels tumors when oxygen levels are low. It enables the cancerous growths to adapt and survive and become more aggressive."

@earl-of-trumps saidPossibly certain types of cancer, I don't know about all cancer.
Good news indeed and if there was any debate about it, I would have posted it in debates.
I still wonder if cancer will be cured in my lifetime. Maybe.

@very-rusty saidMy friends who have had cancer are all cured and well since many years. That is amazing progress, but much more needs to be done of course.
No one is arguing that point torunn.
For a change everyone is on the same page.

@very-rusty saidCancer is a lifestyle disease so if they have diets that predisposes them to develop cancer, then encourage the rest of the family to change their diet etc.

@torunn saidI've had it. Prostate. It scared the living daylights out of me to hear that diagnosis.

And of course, one of the happiest days I've had is when they told me the treatment worked.
