Just read an article the other day about the correlation between modern school education and nearsightedness and the dilemma it presents.
On a tangent: If I ever get my eyes borged, the last thing I'd want to see is the upper-half of low-poly Mark Zuckerberg giving me an intro tour to his impoverished, money-grab version of human reality.
I've been a casual player of Elder Scrolls Online, SWTOR, and Guild Wars 2 for years, and Zuckerberg's "Metaverse" so far looks like Windows -2.8. As a cash-grab attempt it's shaping up to be a total failure. "Star Citizen" is still in its Alpha phase, but way ahead of Metaverse even though that's not what it's trying to be.
We already have partial, distributed, buffet-style "telepresence" and I think Zuckerberg's Metaverse, no matter how fully realized, would be a few steps down from that, not to mention somewhat totalitarian.
