There still is for a few days (we had 3h 39m between sunrise and sunset today), but then we won't see the sun for six weeks. Well, that's not entirely true because I'll be in Germany over Christmas.

People who are susceptible to SAD obviously have more problems here than further south. Also, many people who live further south get SAD without moving north. It would be surprising if people born here were immune to it.
I think it's supposed to affect only people who move from south, not the ones who are born north.

Not too reliable... you can be dissapointed in yourself at least as much as in others. You can not predict how you will behave in 2, 5, 10, 365 days, 25 years... you could do some nasty things, act against your nature and against your best interests... So you can't completly trust to yourself.
