I doubt there is a morning where she lives. At least for now.

There still is for a few days (we had 3h 39m between sunrise and sunset today), but then we won't see the sun for six weeks. Well, that's not entirely true because I'll be in Germany over Christmas.

Do people there suffer from SAD (season affective disorder) or am I just being conned into doubling up on chores?

People who are susceptible to SAD obviously have more problems here than further south. A lot of people lament the darkness, but I don't know how many of those really have significant problems (people lament lots of things without being seriously affected by them). Personally I don't have problems with it at all. But it also isn't as dark as most people who haven't experienced it expect. Even during the darkest time of the year we still get several hours of twilight.

I think it's supposed to affect only people who move from south, not the ones who are born north.

it probably also helps that you're a B-human.

I don't think that's true. I have met people who have grown up here and didn't have problems when they were younger, but at some point they suddenly found it very difficult to deal with the dark season. Also, many people who live further south get SAD without moving north. It would be surprising if people born here were immune to it.

Sounds like the late 50's.

Not too reliable... you can be dissapointed in yourself at least as much as in others. You can not predict how you will behave in 2, 5, 10, 365 days, 25 years... you could do some nasty things, act against your nature and against your best interests... So you can't completly trust to yourself.

Of course, the possibility exists for disappointing one's self. But you have control over when, if, and how often you might do so.
