I would like to suggest that no one stop on the road.

Pull over to the side, and make sure your four way flashers are on.

My special place is not near the side of the road, it is a meadow on the edge of a forest where it's always spring and midgets and The 1970's Harlem Globe Trotters play Red Rover ALL DAY.
