So, not naming names, but if a player shoots up to 1900 points after 6 games, and 5 of those have been resignations where the game seems to still be alive, does this truly reflect the class of the player? Can anyone shed light on the 'resignation' aspect of the play, I appreciate that players may not have time to fight a losing battle, but in my view a games not over till its over
Originally posted by The GoonI can't say anything for certain as I don't know the specifics of this case, but we must take into consideration that somene who actually plays at 1900+ level is bound to evaluate positions differently than us "lesser mortals".

If his rating rose that much after just 6 games, that must mean that he played against high rated opponents. When there are two highly rated players facing each other, they may see that the game is won or lost in a position where a lower level player wouldn't have the faintest idea why anyone would resign that early.

I just had someone resign our games in a tournament, we were 4 or 5 moves in and he's leading the tournament. A little confused...😕
