This is an addendum to my London post.
The second leg of my vacation is in Paris. Any recommendations of an area to stay here would (also) be appreciated. I'm interested in touristy stuff, btw.
Thanks in advance, Diane
Areas like Opera are nice and there is plenty to see during the day and at night. It is also convenient by Metro to get to many tourist places. It really depends on your budget. Last time (2 mths ago) we stayed in Repubique at a nice little hotel also very convienient.
Belgium is alo very underrated - much cheaper than France, best beer in the world. Delicious chocolate. Only 90 mins from Gare Du Nord in Paris to Brussels!
