Park your car

I was on a business trip to southern Ohio and northern Kentucky at the beginning of this week and gas prices there were in the $1.07/litre range. Here, in southwestern Ontario it's about $1.32/litre. I just read that we can expect it to jump to the $2.32/litre in the next "liitle while". When will you park your car? I live in a rural area so public transit is not an option for me but if it comes to that I may just have to move...........or retire fully.

it's around £1.20 a litre here ($2.35ish).

i live in london, so no need for a car, and for most people they're a liability - difficult and expensive to park, and there's an £8 a day (over $15) charge for driving into the centre on weekedays - except that i lug a load of musical gear around for gigs so yes, i do have a car which i use occasionally.

most days i cycle to work.

I'm not looking forward to the gas price hike at all, but it's probably long overdue (although as far as I can tell, very little if any of the increased tax revenue is going towards stewardship of the emissions).

So, even though gas prices go up, your income tax goes down, thus offsetting the impact.
