So R.H.P has a birthday.

My favorite party game is Noah's Ark in the dark.

As your guests arrive you give them a card with a symbol of an animal.(This is a great ice breaker)
Then while you are doing something in the kitchen, you say I will switch off the lights now,you must find your pairing. So they all go off snorting, and mee-owing,and barking.I go cut a melon up.
I love that game.
Linda.

mine is called Mafia.

Tou have all the people and then draw cards to get 2 mafia members and a different person for the policeman.

the game is split into night and day and the objective is to catch the mafia members before the whole village is dead.

this is not all the rules because it is too complicated just to write quickly.

Pink Flamingo.

A fairly sizeable group is best, >5 say. *Each* person gets handed a long thin strip of paper. You draw something at the top, then pass it clockwise (or anti-clockwise, there's no timepiece prejudice going on here, consistency though is the key) to the person seated beside you (and hence you receive a piece as well as giving the one you started). Then, you have to write *in words* what you see, fold the paper so the picture is covered and pass the paper along. You now see the worded description of some new slip that has been passed to you and have to draw what it is the words describe. And so on. Once the papers have gone round the circle once (with lots of people the papers can go round more than once, since it is unlikely you'll be able to remember the initial drawing by the new description if its been passed through several people).

What ends up on the bottom of the paper is oft veeery different to what is at the top, eg last time I played it a space rocket passing a shooting star ended up as a long-tailed mouse wearing sun glasses sitting on top of an ironing board. As well as the initial "oh look how it went badly wrong" kind of humour, how people interpret poorly drawn depictions is of some interest too.

I guess it's "Chinese Whispers" using drawings.

[old man mode] Having said all that, I am partial to sitting down to a good game of Scrabble[/old man mode].
