My name is Colin, and I'm a Lemming addict.
I'd played it a bit on an old Amstrad, but that version of the game was so primitive I didn't really get into it. The real fun started when I had my own Apple Mac and a full version of Lemmings.
I actually played Oh No! More Lemmings first. I think I was about 11 at the time. My parents told me I could only play for 2 hours a day, but I resolved to complete at least 1 level per day. I actually managed to keep this up until the 99th level (out of 100!). Those last two took me a little longer, possibly more than a week between them. Still, 6 weeks after getting the game, it was all over. I had guided the last of the Lemmings safely home. I felt proud... and then I felt empty. What do I do now? What activity can I take part in to compare with the sublime joy (and pain when it goes wrong) of building to avoid trap trigger zones, stretch bridges, controlling 4 lemmings at once, pixel-perfect bombing and underdigging (I kid you not) blockers? And why the hell have I been so obsessed with this game?
By the time I got the original Lemmings one Christmas I was ravenous, and I tore through it like a wolf. I think I reached somewhere in Taxing by the end of Boxing Day. But sadly, Lemmings original was just not up to the standard set by Oh No!, and within about two weeks I was left with the same feeling as before, only more stale.
Later I got my hands on the two Christmas Lemmings, and derived some merriment from them: about half the levels were what I considered 'tricky', though perhaps not up there with Oh No! Unfortunately they each only had 32 levels, so my fun was cut short.
Some years later my Dad told me that there was a new Lemmings game for the Mac! Quickly the thoughts rushed through my head: have they finally ported Lemmings 2: Tribes (which had come out years ago on the PC, and was said to be 'coming soon' in my Oh No! manual, back when I was naive enough to believe this)? Is it an expansion pack for Lemmings? (Good enough for me!) Had they finally made an editor so I could make my own levels and trade them with people on the internet? And the answer was...
Lemmings Paintball. Playing Lemmings Paintball (for I had played it on a friend's PC) is like seeing someone get out a finely crafted chess set, say 'fancy a game of chess?', and then start hitting the pieces together and throwing them around the room, responding with complete sincerity to any protestations you manage to utter with 'but this is how we always played chess back home!'
So ended my love of the Lemmings franchise. But for me, Oh No More Lemmings (minus the first 20 levels - what were they playing at?) has to be the greatest computer game I have ever played (though Oxyd came close - more on that another time.) Sure, I played SimCity 2000 and the Blizzard games for longer and for long periods at a time, but it was with Oh No! that I first felt that I was a fanatic - and proud of it!

Yes: for the Mac there were Holiday Lemmings 93 and 94 (I must have got them later than that). For the PC, these and more, though I don't know exactly what's been released on that platform.

This fact is irrelevant. You have Lemmings and Oh No, and have completed neither. Get to work!
Way back when I had one of my first jobs, we had an Amiga at work with two mice attached. We stayed VERY late nearly every night playing the game head to head. It was amazing.
And it was only a demo with 2 multiplayer levels. (The game wasn't even out) So I recommend you find another Lemmings nut and battle it out - it was just so much fun.

Lemmings? Bah! The only computer games worth playing (besides chess) are:
Solo: Heroes of Might and Magic 3 (or 4).
Online: Age of Empires 2 (Haven't tried Age of Mythology yet).
I almost want to make a webpage featuring lemmings beating up racoons now.
I have a demo for HMM3. It looks fairly good.
I've got AoE2, but never really got into it. It tastes a bit... overcooked.
Also, how can you not mention any of the Civ games?
