Food - Pigging out today Bacon and Eggs for breakfast. Oxtail for lunch, An fireside curry duck and roti for dinner .

Drinks - Beers for lunch [on my 5th], and El Dorado 15 yr old rum for dinner.

Just curious: your daughter who lives abroad, has she moved to Canada, Florida or UK perhaps?

Hey rajk999,
Not missing point, just not doing anything special that I know about yet anyways. Just try to stay cool and relax. I don't know what the better half may have planned as she likes springing surprises on me. 😉

Yes, we are slowly working our way out of the lockdown step by step. Have already tried a total opening which failed. They tried to open to early not enough people vaccinated or tested. Hoping things will go better this time. Our economy is suffering like many around the world. We just were not hit as hard some were, but we have businesses which were small and will not re-open, which is sad to see.

I see, thank you. My eldest daughter's father comes from Trinidad, moved to England in his youth, moved on to Canada and also lived in Florida. Some of his family moved to Canada as well, and some to London.

I think we will have the "New Normal", this Covid may be our new flu! I think in the future we will see more people wearing masks, like they do in countries where the quality of air is bad. Only in our case it will be to protect ourselves from this new virus.

They still have much to learn on it and not quite sure yet exactly how long the vaccine will last even after 2 doses of it. I am concerned more the future generations than our generation. My Children's, children especially!

We met in London mid 60's. Many young people from Trinidad moved to London, they had British passports and needed better job opportunities. Swedish girls, and girls from other European countries, worked in England as au-pair or with domestic work. I worked in a hospital close to St Paul's.

Right. I remember those years. My father had an opportunity to move to the UK to live and work but my mother refused. Moving around the world looking for work was easier in those days.

Of course, the not knowing about what can come out of this virus is scary. Sometimes I think being way out in these islands is good but then, there is a big downside with getting medical care and the right vaccines etc.
