The post that was quoted here has been removedAs hopscotch's post so beautifully pointed out, the "this ain't the PFC" attitude is a clear delusion because the PFC was never anything more than a bunch of posters posting what they felt like. No grand scheme, no rules, just fun.
So this thread has done exactly what I wanted it to do.
Though it will undoubtedly be interpreted as value judgement or criticism, the following comment is simply an observation of socializing tendencies common to the human scene. Whether in steamy public bath houses of ancient times, dingy warehouse home base hangouts of contemporary street gangs or internet chess site private clan forums... opportunities for weak sister handholding; macho/shock jock upsmanship contests; 'You're okay/I'm okay' reciprocal affirmations have always served to satisfy lowest common denominator group needs in superficial yet individualized ways. Mutual admiration still rules the day.

The post that was quoted here has been removedYawn. More pretense superiority sprinkled with hypocrisy.
Where you see clan members, I see individual posters. Where you see a clan with a point, I see just a forum with an interesting selection of posters. So I never saw it as a place to make "buddies". If that happens, awesome, but not because they are the "selected ones". Because of who they are. If this was not it, then what was the point?
Your problem is that you like your compartments tight and your labels organized (as a typical civil servant). This is why you're also a poor mod, actually.
