You won't see much difference until you follow the leg up to the lederhosen.

My house is shoe-free, though it is not strictly enforced.

When I was a kid I had a friend who's house was shoe-free, I liked the idea and their plush marble rug was nice on the feet.

We always took our shoes off on a mat just inside the door, never wore them around the house.

I still do that today, and everyone who comes in takes their shoes off at the door.

The worst thing is having people over to your house, them seeing the shoes at the front door, and still proceeding to walk all over the place in them.

This has happened to me twice. Both times, they were visiotrs from the UK.... I'm just saying...

we never use wall-to-wall carpeting either though, maybe that's what makes the difference?

Did you tell them to take off their sandals?

Then again if your feet looked like this

then maybe you would prefer to keep your shoes on.

I'd be very close to bitch slapping someone walking into my house with their shoes on. unless there's a good reason, like carrying a piano or something. it's simply not okay here, and even the most delirious drunkard would never disrespect anybody's home that way.
