I use Microsoft's Window's Live Photo Gallery. Seems to do the trick. Only problem is that you can't seem to manually line up the photos, it just does it automatically, so if it misaligns them, you can't correct it. My dad has one by Nikon that is pretty good. You can define three reference points on two photos and it uses these to line up the photos.
