nails on a chalkboard for me - every time I see that in a thread I think verbal bullying.
That is how bullies are. They are mean and intentionally hurtful and when someone calls them on it they say no no - I was just kidding. It's not me it's you. You just don't understand, I was kidding - I was bantering.
It's like my nephews who are mean to my niece every day. It is relentless. She is so sad. And when we tell them, they blame her. We are just kidding - she doesn't understand. Someday they will learn the word bantering and use it as their excuse to be mean.
