When I come back to my board, sometimes a move I've made already is shaded pink. Why???

But, as I said, I'd already moved. I made the move which was legal because it showed green. However, when I go back to check the board after my opponent has moved it is now Pink???

Stop refreshing your browser and click "Refresh this Board" instead.

Its not possible, you must not've checked your move after you made it.

A pink square means the move you made was illegal. Either you have moved a piece where it can't go, you have moved into check, or your move puts your king in check some way. . . thats the truth.

If your opponent made a move afterwards, it couldn't have been gay....I mean illegal. The refresh answer above sounds the most likely.
