I have dreams like this... fresh from last night.
I was on a steep hill, laying on my back with a couple friends near by. I was holding a box of pizza, and holding onto a curb with the other hand. It was so steep, that if I let go I would surely start to slide and tumble away down the hill.
I wanted some pizza, but had to hold the box. I couldn't even pass the box off to my friends, if I reached over, I would slide away for sure. I kept looking over at them holding on with 2 hands, while I was there with one hand holding a box of pizza.
I woke up.

And your dreams centre around friends and pizza....
Things have got to be going pretty smoothly for you right now, right??!!
Must be a newlywed!!🙂
I had one the other night where I was standing on a grass hill from which you could see a city stretching into the distance. My brother, whom I don't really get on with, was standing next to me and we had a radio tuned into the news. The news guy was saying that a nuclear bomb was about to fall on the city and wipe us all out. So my brother takes out a pack of Marlboro reds (a soft pack, cos he thinks he's cool of course) and hands me one, we both light up, shake hands and sit down to wait. The bomb falls a few seconds later and the explosion quickly runs over us, but just before it does my brother turns to me, grins and says "Eternity", before leaning back and blowing out a last drag of smoke.
Really rather disturbed me 😕

I have a lot of really lucid and sometimes scarey dreams, I dream intensely almost every night.
I once dreamt I was in a room with a bed in it and the walls, floor, cieling and the bed sheets were all a creamy white colour. Kneeling on the bed was a very attractive and naked girl who seemed to be swaying in a provocative manner. Now unfortunately, that's where the enjoyment ends because, seconds later she starts bleeding from her eyes, nose, mouth, ears. The walls start bleeding, the bed wells up with blood and she's still there swaying away and wiping blood all over herself. Thankfully I then woke up. felt really freaked out by that one and couldn't sleep for the next two nights.
On the other hand, I have had amusing dreams in which Donald Duck was ptiching against Hitler in the world series. I believe the ducks won in straight home runs to 0 and Hitler was dunked in a giant vat of ice water till he turned into a block of ice and was put in a museum. Go figure...

I have a lot of really lucid and sometimes scarey dreams
I haven't had many horror-movie dreams lately (if at all), but a few have been emotionally unpleasant:
In one dream my dad was insisting that I had to get into a fistfight with my brother because his girlfriend looked at me in a funny way, and by the end of the dream I was thinking that I was going to have to fight my brother because it was what society expected of me. For some reason, it was implied that the views expressed by my dad in the dream were those of most people in society, and that I would be seen as a coward if I didn't fight my brother.
In another, I bump into a stranger at a train station, who then grabs me and threatens to kill me. He soon calms down, but afterwards he phones me (no idea how he's supposed to have got my number) and says he wants to be my friend! The worrying part is my response: Far from calling the police, I go along with this guy's offers of friendship, meeting him for lunch. I have a present with me I bought for someone else, but when he assumes it's for him I don't dare to correct him. The dream ends with someone telling me off for giving the present away to my psychotic 'friend'.
Both dreams seemed to be about the acceptance and appeasement of evil, where in the first I give in to social pressure, and in the second I give in to fear. Hopefully the fundies won't spring on this and say 'you feel guilty cos you turned your back on the LORD' 😞
Originally posted by AcolyteI meant that rather than be the sort of dream where you flow through a lot of images, places, people etc. that seem to have no real coherent theme, mine tend to be clearly subjective and understandable. Sometimes they are scarey too. I also once had a series of dreams on consequtive nights running up to a full moon which followed the theme of me turning into a werewolf. By the time the full moon actually came I was seriously contemplating the idea I might turn into one. I have such an odd subconscious 😕

I've had 1 or 2 dreams where I woke up yelling NOO!!!! They were some aweful dreams. I can't really recall them but I think in one I was being hunted down and in another Iwas in a war or something. Weirdest somewhat bad dream (I just laugh over it now but I might of been scared when it first happened which was years ago) I've ever had: Alright, there's a cliff on a nice sunny day, and we drive near the end of it. My mom, myself, and a few other people are in the car. My mom stops the car and gets out. There's a green glass bottle (like old soda bottles) sitting near the edge of the cliff and that's what she got out to see. She bends over and looks at it, then hops back in the car. She starts it up, then drives right towards the bottle. We fly off the cllif and into the lake or something that was below it.

I have a recurring anxiety dream.
It always has the same theme. Heights and falling. I'm always at work and up high, when I lean on something, the machinery or wall or whatever I've constructed in my dream, it starts to fall away and when I look down it's as if looking from an airplane. As I am struggling to keep from falling, I wake up, usually shouting out.
It's odd that it is heights as I used to work in an indurstry in which I would work in high places.
Amazing what theatre the mind can conjur up. I always lie there thinking "what's going on in my head? How did I come up with that story"?
