Hello, I'm relatively new to site, and completely new to the forum. I'm
a beginner chess player, I like to fool around, sometimes it works,
sometimes it doesn't, but I enjoy trying to think ahead as many
moves as possible. Anyway, I borrowed a chess program from a
friend, called Power Chess (made by Sierra), and it's supposed to help
train people to become better players. So far I've found it to be...
somewhat helpful. In terms of general strategy, I suppose. It
doesn't seem to teach the classical openings or defenses as such, just
talks about general control of particular squares and then when it
analyzes your games it makes ambiguous statements like "I liked
that move" or "That was not a good move" without indicating why.
I was wondering if anyone else out there has used this program, and
if so, what they thought of it.
Thanks,
-mike
