what power is there to be had? the power of modding? seems to me that that would be more of a pain in the @$$ than a power trip.

Perhaps by 'power hungry' Rusty refers to the less literal/impersonal

and yet real personal need or lust to exert control over other people.

He could very well be projecting--- VR himself could be the power hungry one.
