OH YES MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!!!
Great times are upon us! I won a case!!!

The governmental behavioural change bureau is forever fining me over anything and everything they can possibly think up.
For instance: Driving too fast, driving without a seatbelt, driving on a bus lane, parking wrongly and farting in public.

But the tides are a turnin'...
(Oh, Dannypitanny...this is about the time you should stop reading my post and go and stick a finger up your arse)
The storm clouds are passin'...
The rivers are turning into wine....
And many more such comments....

I just want to share with you all....that I have won a case!! I don't have to pay my parking fine!
Basically I objected to the fine, they upped the stakes and I wrote to the officer of justice (DA?) and told him I wanted to drag Rotterdam tax council (who issues parking fines in Rotterdam, for some reason) to court!
They informed the Rotterdam tax council...and they sent me a letter saying, and I quote and translate: "For this one time we shall let you off."

How about that!?
I'm so happy I could drink a bottle of chilled, dry, white wine!

Looks like I've made an impression on the great Shav ... He actually remembers my name. How great it is. Indeed "Great times are upon us!" ...

Well if you must know, with a little bit of lubrication I don't mind getting a finger in the "arse" ... You should try it as well. There's nothing like a finger in the "arse" to ignite some creativity.

You know, just because we play chess, doesn't mean we have to be boring.

Have a nice day.

Well, to be quite honest, I went back to the "Let the party begin" thread to see what you were called...

You seem bitter, however my child.
Why not lie down on my couch and tell me about your childhood...

Mhmmm
Yes.
Your mum? I see.
mhmmm

Vaseline?
Yes, very clear

Oh sorry. Times up. Next week, same time?

Actually my childhood was quite exceptional ... Thanks for assuming.

I am not bitter. I am just very critical. It's an imperfection that I am working on. I believe that the world needs critics-don't you? Just like the world needs writers-such as yourself-n'est pas?

So no hard feelings. It's Just a bit of constructive criticism.

Not everyone has to agree with you blissfully!

I am so happy for you my friend!!! 😀

My sister had to pay a ticket for 5 over at the courthouse in Flint, Michigan, USA. Well, she parked at the designated parking on the street, which used a meter. She put a dime in it and at that time, a dime was good for 60 minutes. But after standing in line for over an hour, then paying her fine, she was really, REALLY upset when she went to her car and found yet ANOTHER ticket! Yeah, this one was for the timed out meter.

Well, I have to tell you, my sister is very much like myself. I mean, we have a set of values of what's right and wrong... so she told me, "I'm NOT going to PAY that ticket!!!"

Okay, so here's what happened. 😠

The court issued her a fine FOR NOT PAYING THE TICKET... it was something like $45. The original parking ticket was $5. So, of course, my sister isn't going to pay that either since it was all due to the inadequate staffing at the courthouse, which caused her to get the parking ticket in the first place! (Ah, I love people who stand up for what they believe in!)

Soooo, it took nearly a year, then my sister was arrested for "failing to comply with a court order". They locked her up for 3 days till she posted bond. Then, because she couldn't afford a lawyer, she went before the judge on her own (oh yeah, the city appointed a lawyer for her... was useless).

Of course my sister, being a lot like myself 🙂, proceeded to tell the judge everything that was wrong with the system - and why she didn't deserve the fine. Well, the judge now fined her $300 for "not compiling with a court order". And, as I knew would happen, my sister tod the judge where he could file the papers because SHE WAS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS WRONG! (I just love the heck out of her for standing up for her rights..)

Okay, so next thing you know, the judge sentenced her to 3 months in prison!!! <GASP!> Yeah, see the people who are in power don't like it when the people they are trying to control refuse their laws.

So here's what it all came down to: Not only did they put my sister in prison fr 90 days because of a $5 parking ticket she refused to pay - THEY TOOK HER CHILDREN AWAY FROM HER!!! Saying that since there was no one at home to watch over the children, they had to be put in a foster home!

True story... this is America - home of the free. 😳

BTW, in the end she got the kids back. But what a price.

Wow! That's quite a story there my friend. Your sister is quite a person to endure that much injustice for her principles.

I am curious, has she ever looked into suing the court, civally speaking?

This incident took place about 20 years ago (she's older than me 🙂). At that time people didn't sue the government. 🙁

Hmmmm, well that's a shame. Well, atleast it seems it turned out alright in the end. Is all well with them today? Any long term issues caused by this event?
