Can we have a forum so that all the people who want to preach, don`t eat meat or elieve in this or that religion or save this can have their say. All we seem to get in the general forum now is this sort of stuff and it`s getting boring. Don`t you preachers have anything else to talk about.

Post in the 'suggestions' forum Paulie πŸ™‚

But you do realise I could say the same about any other topic on this forum, that it deserves its own heading surely ?

Well maybe you should post about a full review of the current forum titles.

Difference is I don't have much of a problem with the current status of the general topic forum. While I can appreciate your annoyance at religious, or philosophical discussions, I might as well ask to keep all football ralated threads in a different forum as they annoy me.

Besides, I think it would be a shame if I had to specificallly go into another type of forum, just to get to topics I might not see everyday in the general forum.

stay well

Well, we each have our own opinion. I just don`t like being preached at.

Personally, I just don't read threads that don't interest me. I can't imagine being irritated that others like discussing things I don't happen to want to read.
If a thread is misleadingly titled, you only have to open it once to find out. Thereafter, you need never read it again.
It makes no sense to complain about the posters. If you are reading something you don't want to read, then you ought to stop reading it.

I'm done with those threads. I feel I've put more than one valid point in and they are ignored as all my other sentences in the thread are picked apart. Then I see 3 or 4 recs for a post I feel didn't even address my general point.

I guess everyone at RHP agrees that eating animals is cruel... so there is no point in debating it.

Watercress sandwich anyone?

I don`t read them, it`s just that almost every time I take a look at the General Forum, there is yet another sermon from someone.

πŸ˜€ Ferinstance, "Everyone should stop posting sermons" sermon πŸ™‚πŸ˜€πŸ™‚πŸ˜€

The mere fact that people are involved, at length, with posts means that the forums are being used. The fact that people are complaining indicate they are being read, or at least browsed.

I wonder if the true indicator of the success of something is to find out how many people are against it πŸ™‚

I have no qualms with this thread, although I have to say, with regards to the similar thread, people who leave because they don't like the forums' threads aren't playing enough chess. πŸ™‚

I think the frustration that is being felt right now stems from a lack of respecting other peoples opinions, especially in the sense that opposition is frequently being presented in a less than cordial way. There is absolutely no reason any person in these forums can't convey their thoughts in a polite manner.

There are a great many things that I read in these forums that make me absolutely furious. There are some lines of thought that I consider to be absolutely idiotic in nature. There are some points of view that make me marvel that the human race has survived as long as it has. Despite this, I have to recognize that all of these people posting in here are no better or worse than me. We're all just people trying to assimilate the data we aquire and try to make some sense of this crazy world.

Lets all try and show a little respect, no matter how great our differences.

People could use the <Meet Opponents> Forum more often to chat about this and that ... and a lot of other things. Open a thread ....... and enjoy yourself πŸ˜€

The forums are privilege not a right.

They are the place to express and exchange viewpoints with courtesy.

I agree with Paulie. The General forum is getting really crowded nowadays.

A religion/philosophy/politics etc. and maybe something like a sports forum would be a great addition to the site (for me in any case πŸ˜‰).
Everyone can post where their interests lie.

It's fine saying that you just read threads that interest you and if it doesn't then just don't click it again. But with posters like Ivanhoe, pradtf, et al posting all the time, all the threads that interest me gets pushed out of action very quickly.
