By the end of the year we will realize that we won't let ourselves be wiped out by asteroids or global plagues, but that instead most of us will live for hundreds of years or longer, which is probably a more disagreeable future.

Okay I will be a bit mor specific. the value of 40.000 will be reached during the year and will remain there at least three consecutive "market days" (no tricks with weekend or hlidyas).
In fact I would venture to predict it will be below 40'000 at the end of the year still.
So we have now a bit over 41000, and ou need to go back to September to have a lower notation.

Since it didn't happen this year:

* A new Pope will be elected.

* The war in Ukraine won't end this year.

* The bubble at the US stock market will burst. So I expect the Dow Jones to have a closing value below 40.000 in 2025 (today it is 44'871)
