Individually the Portugese players were far superior to the English and the Greek players.
The play style of Portugal was far tighter and sharper than either that of Greece and England.

England looked poor in many aspects v. Portugal, especially passing, but their defence was good.
Greece were solid in defence and effective at scoring when they needed to be (no fluke - look at v. Portugal, France, and Czech).
Portugal might have looked tighter and sharper but something was missing. They couldn't finish off. And they didn't dominate that much in attack.
Portugal were extremely lucky to beat England (after they were still tied after 5 penalties taken) so you are talking bollocks when you say they were thrashed. I suppose they were thrashed by the French even though they were 1-0 up after 89 mins. The result is what counts but you can't say it was a thrashing.
