I'm told that for people in Louisiana, coffee went up to $10 a can in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Is that true? What else costs more apart from gas?

I also heard tell of acres of dead chickens.

I'm in Colorado , and coffee's almost doubled here . The port of N.O. processed and stored about 25% of the coffee entering the country . I guess any fruit which is imported will be like-wise going up . A lot of produce came through N.O.

(well not for the chickens i suppose
I'm sure the chickens found it as surreal as anyone else! I shall now go and blind myself so that the increasingly insane phenomenal world distract me not from my contemplations.

what are you contemplating today BDN?
I'm contemplating the mysterious beauty that folksong has bequeathed us:

There was a man of Thessaly & he was wondrous wise
He jumped into a quickset hedge & scratch'd out bit his eyes
And when he saw his eyes were out he'd reason to complayne
He jumped into another hedge & scratch'd them in agayne

(worth quoting in two forums)

Now that's all very well, but how did he see while his eyes were out?

Luckily he'd just read the complete works of Lobsang Rampa, so his third eye was wide open.

Oh, in that case. Thanks, I am glad I can stop to think now.

On behalf of the good people of RHP, I demand a thread entitled:

'The Contemplations of Bosse de Nage'
Unfortunately they are limited to two words.
