@divegeester saidThey try and assess if you will want kids in the future.
“A friend” told me that if you want a vasectomy but you don’t have kids, then you have to have a psychological evaluation beforehand … to check that you’re mentally ok to never have kids I suppose.
What happens if you fail the test?
If they decide you will , you don't get the snip.
A friend of mine went for an evaluation recently.
As he has 4 kids under 10, he got the snip.
@ponderable saidAfter having, first a male offspring then a female one “we” decided that the procedure was a good idea. As it started the Dr told me that it “might” be a bit uncomfortable when he did the snip. He was correct though “a bit” was a bit understated. As it was to be of the bilateral variety, I asked if “we” could make it a unilateral one. He smiled and said, “let me ask your wife”. I said, “never mind, go ahead.”
In Germany it is the person who performs the procedure who is talking to the patient. Briging p things like: You don't know if you have a new wife in seven years and she wants to have children...

@divegeester
If you think you might yet want kids, save some sperm in a sperm bank, then get the snip.

@divegeester saidTell the doctor "I've seen YOUR kids and I don't want my own."
