It isn't calculated after you send a reminder. A reminder appears two days after the last move and the timout appears after three.

it's really up to you. i like to err on the conservative side and give them at least a few days. however, if it is someone i play against regularly, or we've been chatting or whatever, i wait a lot longer and only timeout if it looks like they might have left the site.
some people have itchy timeout trigger fingers, but i really don't see the necessity for this, unless your rating is all-important to you.

I couldn't answer this. I don't use reminders so wouln't know, because I hate receiving them myself. I hate being harrassed to make a move. If someone tried to hurry a move from me OTB I think a headbut would be called for. If someone sends me a reminder I ensure take even more time to take moves in that game.

Edit: I am a strong believer in the rules of the game and if I and my opponent agree to a T/O and T/B then I will abide by those rules and don't need anyone to hurry my gameplay up

Thank you, I am playing a game with a 1 day timeout and no timebank, it has been several days since my opponents last move, I sent him a reminder and sent a message before the timeout occurred. If no move by tomorrow I guess I will claim the win.

yep, go for it. there would be no grounds at all for a complaint by your opponent.

Coudn't have said it better myself.

Like dinc168 once said "I fell and craked my skull. Now I am looking for a new one. If I find one sitting in front of me, I will gladly take it".
