British actor John Hurt has died at the age of 77. Hurt, who appeared in "Alien," "V for Vendetta," "The Elephant Man," 'Harry Potter,' "Dr. Who" and "1984," died Friday of pancreati cancer.

Once saw him live doing a Samuel Beckett play 'Krapp's Last Tape' (a one man show). One of the most amazing and moving performanaces I have ever seen.

A great loss.

Fine actor. I thought he was devastatingly convincing as the mad Emperor Caligula.

He said he was clear of the disease.

The doctors lied to him?

He acted with his voice and eyes, he never had muscles, never did stunts, he smoked and slowly pronounced meaningful lines (or just manuscritto craaap he made into smart lines by his ominous persona).
