I read a lot of his stories when I was a kid, but haven't read any of his novels. I painted his portrait from a book-jacket photo when I was about 20.
People might think of him as a poetic science-fiction writer, but maybe he was more of a horror-writer and a Cassandra.

@ponderable saidI was never a fan either, although I read an awful lot of SF in the pre-fantasy days, when it actually was still SF. Philip K. Dick, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Poul Anderson. The good old days.
