If I click on the unread messages ( which may say "4 unread
messages in last 24 hrs&quot😉 how come I get a list that is a lot longer
than 4 ?
Secondly, when I hit the "view in context" button why do I simply still
get the list of the posts - they are not in "context:" ?

Help / advice please

It means that there are four unread messages in the particular forum you happen to be
frequenting at the time. The other messages are in different forums. I don't know why they are
displayed the way they are once you "view them in context".

"View in context" means "view this in the context of the thread it is an
element in." When you "view in context", you can see what has been
posted in response to it, as well as have access, by the "previous
post" button, to whatever post it was a response to.
