I know gameknot.com has real time blitz chess but that has a clock. Are there any similar sites that do not have a clock but real time playing?

Not that I know of. I imagine it would be very frustrating when I got material up and my opponent just ignored the game knowing that with no time control there could be no forced end.

Edit (or very satisfying if I was losing and chose to behave in that way) 😉

I think on Playchess you can choose to play without a clock.

Yahoo and pogo both have non timed games.
The big disadvantage was already stated.
Your opponent can quit moving and hope you disconnect or just get bored and leave.

I won't play on Yahoo on a bet. If you think the people here can
be crude, try Yahoo. All I can say is, its aptly named.
Bunch of trash over there plus Yahoo loads down your comp with
tons of scumware. I don't like Pogo for the reason they load up your
computer with other games, ready to tap but not voluntarily,
its another site that downloads stuff you don't know about.
I found out because I use Hijack this and other stuff to sniff out
whats happening in my machines.
