It'll be my first so I'd like some pointers, please.

I really, really don't want to just walk into a place and buy it
but I am not exactly a handyman. Should I just pick a strong
semi-horizontal tree branch and use normal ropes? Is the seat
supposed to be wood and, if so, do I make two holes on each
side and just let the knots sustain it?

Kind of lost here, as you can see. Thanks in advance to those
chipping in with your experiences and suggestions.
