I was once very nearly 1700. Never quite made it. A few pips short more than once. I don't feel that I am any worse now at the game now though. if anything I am a improved a little. I am aware of more openings and I doubt my strategy has waned. Perhaps I have less desire than i used to. I have won three tournaments and now, well to win another wouldn't be
that much of an achivement any more. Oh and I have stopped using databases unless you throw something really weird at me.
