My thoughts, hopes, concern, caring, and love go out to my late mother who died of lung cancer. She was a strong, intelligent, and humorus person to be around. She was the best friend who was there whenever I needed her and she knew what you were thinking it seemed before you would say it to her. Words cannot describe how much I miss her in my heart.π:'(

Originally posted by saffa73My father was there on D-Day...Omaha beach...almost sixty years ago....its amazing to listen to him and his friends (very few are with us anymore) talk about that time...what they remember most is the people they encountered and the places they saw...these seem to be some of their best memories...very little talk of war. Perhaps that is best.
I met two guys who fought in WW2 on D-Day. they were in my bookshop today, browsing the D-Day books.
Had a lump in my throat listening to them talk about it.
My respects and compliments to all of them.
