I send no reminders for you to move, if you time out, too bad my rating goes up, yours goes down.

What's the point anyways? They are going to either move or not. In my games, they usually do move without me nagging them.

Who cares if your rating goes up because you timed somebody out? Unless you had a clearly won position and they were stalling it's not like your chess playing ability earned it. I just timed out my first opponent since I've been on the site; he challenged me, got into the middle game and then didn't move for a week. I gave him an extra day after the skull appeared then PM'd him and gave him another day to move and when he didn't I timed him out. I think that procedure is best for everybody has a time out win just doesn't feel right but then again I hate seeing games just sitting there with no activity. How's everybody else feel?

Does it matter how anybody else feels? If a skull appears on your game list, you click it or you don't.End of story.
It's your choice, different people do different things.

I think that the rules are clearly understood before the match begins. If you don't move, you lose. PM me if you have some reason, cripes, its only a chess site ...

Ugh, argh, this is tough to get out #1, but I find myself in agreement with you again....I hope you're not losing any sleep over this sort of horrendous behavior on my part 😉

I personally think this rating thing is overrated...I do not feel any less significant when my rating drops or more superior when it soars(well, maybe soars is not really applicable in my case)

The only thing I notice is that when my rating goes up, I end up playing much better players in clan matches and they more often than not manage to knock me down a peg or two. It's so depressing, I just go to the frig and get another beer and watch the discovery channel for awhile 😀

Um well I'm in the same boat, but still feel if someone just stops playing, I'll take the win

I submit in an over the board tourney if your opponents time expires then you win. There is nothing else to consider. Should you feel guilty about this, moving on to the next round and all. Even on rhp torneys if you timeout the computer will automaticaly give your opponent the victory regardless of position. I say claim the skull and move on to the next game.
