I am going home to Scotland next month, and i would like to rent a car for my time there. I have passed my test, and have my certificate of competancy, but i haven't sent it away to get the full licence yet. Can i still rent a car ?

I have the cert that says i passed, i just haven't changed it yet.

How old are you?

Some have an age limit and if you are under that age they won't let you rent or insurance will be crazy.

Ah, good age to rent a car. Over here, I'm pretty sure it's 25.

I have no idea about your question though.

Just making sure about the age part because I know that much is a factor.

good call ... travel.aol.com shows a table for glasgow with all the major renters on it, with car types and prices, looks like hertz has the best prices.

I think you will need the full license as well as a credit card. That's how it works here in the US.

Yeah, i technically have both, as i've passed my test, and have the cert to prove it. Hertz wont play ball, and i can't be arsed trying to find someone who'll play ball. So, once again, the owners of the Hackney cabs in my local area will be following my every move.

It's a Pain in the hole. 😛
