Most people are like headless chickens. If you are bit more advanced than that and actually use your head, you will be minority. Sometimes pretty miserable, because they won't let you otherwise. They will never exit for their little box, they will blindly follow their little dogmas and axioms just because they were told to do so. They will never try to re-evaluate their believings, and at the same time, they will try to deprive you from what is sacred to you. They are totally inflexible...

Never underestimate the destructing power of stupid people in large numbers.

That's why I like RHP forums so much... People interested in chess or verbal debates, changing of thoughts, often happen to be smart and entitled to their opinions. So since typical RHP poster is usually more indipendent, articulated thinker than average Joe, I enjoy to be part of this site even when I wholeheartly disagree with someone.

So , I like you all ! 😛 Even trollZ, 'cause their stupidity and misery tends to be entertaining so we all remember them latter as funny anecdotes !

Snarky attitudes/behavior seem to represent a major threat to genuine cyberspace dialogue. Minimum assimilation. Maximum spitting back.

In my experiences, people who play chess are just as irrational and stubborn as the general public you portray in your post, if not more so.

But if you're stupid, then you'll also think you're right and that I'm stupid even though that might very well be false.

So how can I tell?

If we're going to re-enact Abbot and Costello, let's at least pick a better thread to do it in.

Every post so far, to a greater or lesser degree, smacks of snark. Dumbing down the internet does well. All about impersonal arms length.
