I may be interested in participating in this contest. What is it all about? I haven't seen the rules.
Maybe if you had posted it in a real forum like Spirituality, I would have seen it before now.

The instrumental entry I am considering is Amazing Grace.
Maybe play guitar along with it?
Usually intstrumental means a piano solo, guitar solo, something
like that. There certainly have been fine instrumental recordings of
Amazing grace, sans voice.
BTW, I like the variation that goes:
Amazing Grass, how sweet the smell,
it saved a wretch like me......🙂

I hardly feel the need to get into a pissing contest over this. I'm not a professionally trained musician nor am I much of a songwriter. I pride myself in performing well live and in front of audiences. Just because I don't own a stupid tape recorder or have a computer with a decent sound card doesn't mean I don't have passion for music, you presumptuous ...[text shortened]... e I've professed this and I'll give you a reacharound next time I'm at the trailer park.

on it. I would love to hear you strut your stuff! Too bad we can't do
it in person.

Well hell, maybe I'll buy myself a tape recorder and become one.
like a word processor is to a writer. If you have songs you wrote,
its just a way to get them down so you won't forget them. Thats all
I was referring to.
Before I discovered RHP I used to spend a lot of time composing music. But I'm a totally rubish musician. So I let my computer play my creations - thanks to MIDI and soundfonts.
But I'm just not sure given the catagories of the competition, and the "awards" that entrants are vying for, whether purely electronic submissions would be allowed or even encouraged. There seems to be a lot more emphasis on performance rather than composition. I'm not sure those entrants playing their owns instruments should compete against computer generated music and vice versa, even if both are composed by humans.
But it would be fun to enter...
I read the competition "rules" but I'm not sure if this question is answered. Marinakatomb asked a similar question, but I didn't see a reply.

voting yet: Electronica, or computerized if you will.
