On a side note, I believe Seitse already deserved a disqualification. I'd hate end up voting on him unadvertedly. 😠

I should say this as ana addendum to my rant, this competition and the resulting work has enriched and inspired me. I'd like to see more similar competitions.

'Prose' covers essays. What I'd really have liked would have been to do an Adornoesque aphorism.

I wouldn't set essay topics. It's a queer form of art, the essay.

Careful, that get's to be an enormous amount of work for the judges. The sermon comp was fun, but, a impressive amount of work by all the judges. Despite being less organized, you're better off using peers to judge.
