Hi Tony! Could it be that NO site is THE best? I, for one, am happy I
came back to RHP, but at the same time I'm staying at ChessWorld.
The latter is -most of the time- a sheer chessic site, and is far more
less a 'social community' as RHP is, for instance. They both have
there merits. Different target groups as well. In my opnion, and for all
I know about chesssites, RHP is unique. Not always for the best,
though. Viz. the once ongoing rantings (xeno, stevens vs babe and
lately the sad disputes, insults, etc. with various people involved). I
hope all this will be solved very soon. It's too sad, really. It diverts
members from what one's really here for: chess and socialising. No
more, no less.
At ChessWorld (I'm not advertising!) such goings-on are absolutely
excluded. The webmaster simply doesn't allow this, and can even
expel you, if and when it runs out off hand.
An example: I once published one of my poems, translated from my
native tongue Dutch, into English, titled 'Women'. It was refuted by -
only some- ladies and the webmaster sent me a (friendly) message
that he had taken it from the Forum, although he liked it himself and
many others too, just to prevent any more commotion it might
possibly cause. Maybe I'd try it out here? because, it's actually a
TRIBUTE to the female gender, as I meant it to be. And yes, it was
erotic, but from eroticism it's still a long way XXX-rated stuff. Should I
give it a try?
