I have to say the first time I saw Mr. Bean I never laughed so hard in my life. Not sure why that is, but I honestly couldn't stop laughing.

Rowan Atkinson's got the same problem Benny Hill had, he got stereotyped as a single character.

Check out Blackadder and you'll see how versatile he is. Also he's in plenty of films (4 Weddings & a funeral, etc.)
