Oops, that was something like 1999. My bad, he is dead. So he lived to be 75 years old. We are almost the same age, I am a September child, he is April.

He was a great violinist and I have a couple of CD's, him and Martin Carthy, another legend.
Gads, had no idea he recorded on so many albums. Over 150!! He is the Isaac Asimov of folk music! (Isaac wrote over 450 books) I think that even beats out Pete Seeger for sheer numbers of recordings.
