The number of 1600+ players has increased very noticeably in recent weeks. This must reflect greater numbers of strong players joining the site. Smash (1617), for example, has won 33 and drawn 1. He says in his profile that he had an over the board rating of 2308. I for one would be interested to know how many RHP stars have had ratings higher than this. Some other up and coming players with 3 losses or fewer and games still in progress : Schindler (1710), pancser (1710), robjunbrimol (1700), redlentils (1674), gerbear (1671) and cabkingpin (1622). No doubt some of these will soon be breaking into the top 20, making the table stronger and more of a challenge than ever. Hey, how about an elite tournament aimed just at 1700+ players, with games weighted to count for extra rating points to encourage greater participation ? I want to see the top stars playing against each other more often - makes it more competitive and exciting.
