Another good un' bites the dust 🙁
... and I 've just realised that I must have been lucky enough to have seen him in the flesh! In the early 70's I went to see a group called Vinegar Joe in concert ... I've always known that that was where Elkie Brooks came from but now I find that Robert Palmer was also a key member of the group.
Andrew
So many celebrities have been passing away recently! I've always been a fan of Robert's. He had such an earnest vocal style. I don't think I'll ever forget that awesome video to "Addicted to Love."
He had so many other great songs, too!
Bad Case of Loving You (Doctor, Doctor)
Simply Irresistible
Looking For Clues
Man Smart, Woman Smarter
Every Kinda People
Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley
Then there was The Power Station album (which I LOVE...but mostly because of the much unheralded drummer, Tony Thompson), the group he formed with John and Andy Taylor from Duran Duran. I think everyone remembers "Some Like It Hot" and "Get It On (Bang a Gong)" from that album, but the whole thing is really good.
Now I'm sad.
