I don't know either. He's a rookie (just out of college) and it doesn't say in the article
I just wondered why he didn't take her some place else. I'm sure I am missing some point here. πŸ™‚

Not sure, Torunn. I am sure he had to be back to the hotel at some specific point
and if they wanted to spend the night together, then, there ya go!

I just laughed like heck when I read it. :-)

They may have had some unfinished business to attend to... πŸ™‚ Young people do such things.

Perhaps they wanted to flaunt their misbehaviour and be rule breakers!

It would have been a great bragging point with his mates if he got away with it <chuckles>

I believe the point being made here is potentially bringing in covid more so than the girl, or having to do with if he was married or not.

A hotel would normally charge double occupancy. Sneaking anyone in, disguised or not, regardless of gender, with intent not to pay double occupancy is probably a breach of hotel ToS.

It is done all the time over here even animals that aren't allowed are snuck in. They really don't care if you want to have a visitor, or if they happen to spend the night.

Exactly, new boy making his name.

I don't even know that he was going to make the team, but he certainly isn't now. So he blew his chances at a career.

Most sports stars are in a bubble to keep themselves from catching covid and spreading it to their team mates. This guy wanted to get laid (and if you'll pardon the pun) was prepared to screw the rest of the team.

He has apologised but his career's likely over before it began.

Is it really - people often get a second chance and he is still young.

Stupid thing to do, because he was endangering the team he might have made by bringing in a girl to the bubble. He wouldn't make a good team player!

Reality TV here I come. Probably wasn't even a player. Some call this the Robbie Savage phenomenon, but I'm kinder!

It is a simple case of hormones over common sense!

Making a mistake is one thing. Making a mistake during a pandemic is something else.
