My mail was delivered to another address. The person realising looked up the phone book and called me. But i was out so my answer machine took the message, unfortunatly they spoke there phone No. over my recorded message. As the last part of the message indercated. I phoned our royal mail who i gave the details of this and they said they wuold investergate. however after 3 days no word was heard. Again phoned and was given the result politly sorry we dont know where it is . So that is the result of there investergation and the postman will be retrained. what was the point of a complaint department when all they are doing is blaming the person at the bottem . Who i think didnt do the problem as it has gone in my view to a similar address in another town ( if it had been in my street the person would not have phoned just pushed it through my letter box).

Hopefully in your case the person who phoned you will put your mail back in a post box if they don't hear from you :-)

Was this mail that you expected, or had a message just been left for you?
I only mention this, because it reminds me a little of a scam that was going around for a while.
Low life leaves a card in your letter box,or calls you leaving their phone number. The message says they have a parcel/item for you - they give some plausible reason why they have it. You call the number, but you only ever seem to reach an answer phone...
A few weeks later you receive your phone bill and are a little surprised about the premium rate number which has cost you loads!!! The penny drops...
All I'm saying is that if you were not actually expecting a parcel, you may have had a close escape ;-)

You have to hear my story ...
Last year I studied in England (University of Loughborough) - I managed to get some tickets for the Championsleague Final ...
I wanted to watch the game together with a friend - who lives in London ...
He wanted me to send him the tickets, because we went to Manchester together and so I put them into an envelope and put them in one of this typical red letterboxes ...
5 minutes later I recognized that Monday is a Bankholiday - and the game was on Wednesday ...
So I tried to get my letter back and was calling Royal mail and sent them an e-mail where i explained my problem ...
Well - to come to the point of the story - the letter never arrived ... maybe some worker at Royal mail had a really nice evening in Manchester. I won´t use Royal Mail anymore when I got important things to send.
P.S.: I was on the final anyway ... boring nill nill, for a few minutes I even thought they wn´t manage to score a goal when they were penalty kicking.
